REMEMBER BRUNO????

Please Crosspost
Ponyboy Curtis (a.k.a. Bruno from the Downey Shelter) needs a foster home!

In early November, the rescue community networked a Boxer-mix who had no hope and no rescue to save him (see the original plea below). His name was Bruno and he was living on the streets for who knows how long. He was finally picked up by Animal Control and brought to the Downey shelter. When we met him, he was emaciated, extremely sick and scared, but we knew this special dog deserved to be saved. Take Me Home has spent an exuberant amount of money trying to heal his heart and body. But for us to succeed in giving Bruno what he needs, Bruno and TMH are pleading for your assistance! Sweet Bruno, now re-named Ponyboy Curtis, needs an immediate foster home. This gentle soul is so forgiving and easy going. He has the most amazing, mellow personality. He walks like a champ on leash and enjoys the company of other dogs. We are not sure how he is with cats. Ponyboy Curtis loves people and children of all ages and sizes.

Ponyboy Curtis has a severe skin infection, anemia and an infected tail. He had several non-cancerous growths removed from his back and is healing from a prostate infection. He is only about three years old, but has already been through so much. Poor Ponyboy Curtis is so confused and barks when he is left alone (we are working on this and he’s doing better) and dribbles urine ever so slightly from his prostate infection which is continually resolving. We need a foster home who is patient, loving and willing oversee his medical for at least the next three months. Foster duties will entail medication administered three times daily, weekly blood tests at our vet in West Los Angeles and weekly baths.

Take Me Home is fully prepared to pay a foster $10 a day, supply all of his meds, food, crate and any other necessary items Ponyboy Curtis may need. We will also be on-hand to help get Ponyboy Curtis to and from vet appointments, if needed. We are requesting a foster who lives in Los Angeles and it would be easier if they did not have any other animals so Ponyboy Curtis can be the main focus until he is completely healed.

Please consider opening your hearts for this special boy and please send this plea to everyone you know. Ponyboy Curtis is a one-of-a-kind dog and his face alone will melt your heart. He deserves a soft bed to rest on while we continue to get him better and ready for his forever home.

We gave him the gift of life and now we are asking for you to help us give him the gift of healing.

He truly deserves this chance!!!!

Subject: Bruno the Boxer needs rescued - Pledges to Qualified Rescue

Please take a look at adorable Bruno and pass his story on to everyone you know. This is Bruno. He is a 4 year old male boxer who has been roaming an industrial cul de sac for several days. He was emaciated and so hungry, he didn't even notice when semi trucks barreled down the road, luckily stopping and honking for him to get out of the road as he looked for anything to eat. A worker in the area had fed him for a few days and said he never barked, growled or showed any aggression, he just seemed scared, hungry and in need of help. Downey Shelter Animal Control picked him up this morning and we are hoping to find him a rescue, foster or permanent place to live asap. Downey is a high kill shelter and he needs to get out of there fast. His animal id is 4211855. We are collecting donations that will go to a qualified rescue, if you'd like to donate.
