Run, Walk, Shop or Adopt! Help Save the Lives of the Forgotten Animals.
Dear Take Me Home Families, Friends and Supporters:
We are delighted to announce that Take Me Home is participating in the Sixth Annual Race for the Rescues event at the Pasadena Rose Bowl on Sunday, October 23, 2011, hosted by The Rescue Train and actress Jane Lynch from the popular show, “Glee.” Race for the Rescues is a 5K, 10K and Kids Fun Run to benefit ten non-profit rescues and animal welfare foundations, including Take Me Home. Animals from local shelters will be there for adoption, along with fun activities for all ages. Animal lovers will gather together to raise money and give the gift of life to the homeless animals of Los Angeles. Join Team Take Me Home and be a voice for the voiceless.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
We are putting together a Take Me Home team to raise at least $10,000 for Take Me Home! As a runner/walker for Team Take Me Home, you will need to donate a small registration fee to participate, and get donors to support you in the event that you choose. If every adult raised at least $150 in donations, and every child raised at least $50, Take Me Home will reach their fundraising goal and save so many more lives! Join Team Take Me Home for the Race for the Rescues or support us with your donations. YOU DON’T NEED TO RUN/WALK TO RAISE MONEY or to solicit donations for Team Take Me Home, just ask everyone you know to donate! The links and instructions are below.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
· 5K and 10K walk/run and a Kids Fun Run. (Your dogs are welcome to join you.)
· Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 8:30a.m. to 12:30p.m. at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
· Take Me Home needs volunteers, walkers, runners, and donors!
· There is a registration fee (Kids Fun Run: $18, 5K: $30, 10K: $32) for each event, and the fee covers event t-shirts and medals.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO REGISTER:
· Join Team Take Me Home and participate in any of the three event (Kids, 5K or 10K) Click here: Team Take Me Home to go right to the Take Me Home team page, click on “Join our Team,” then click on“I Agree” and the rest is self-explanatory OR go to: www.racefortherescues.org, click on "Register Here,” then click on "I Agree,” then click on “Join A Team” then go to the box near the bottom that says “Join an existing Team” scroll until the name “TAKE ME HOME” comes up and click on “TAKE ME HOME” and the rest is self-explanatory.
· Once you register, ask donors to support you and Take Me Home in the event by going to www.racefortherescues.org and click on “Sponsor Participant,” then type in your name and follow the instructions to make a donation by credit card OR you can collect checks payable to: The Rescue Train and give them to Take Me Home. (Donors should NOT click on the “General Donations” tab on the Race for the Rescues home page. Donations should only be made from the Team Take Me Home page.)
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO DONATE TO TEAM TAKE ME HOME:
· To Donate to Team Take Me Home by credit card, click here Donation Page for Team Take Me Home, enter a donation amount and click continue, the rest is self-explanatory OR you can make checks payable to: The Rescue Train and send them to: Take Me Home, 2633 Lincoln Boulevard, #207, Santa Monica, CA 90405. (Donors should NOT click on the “General Donations” tab on the Race for the Rescues home page. Donations should only be made from the Team Take Me Home page.)
