Update -- Liberty Happy and Healthy!

Take Me Home is thrilled to share with Liberty’s supporters that she is healthy at last!
This once terribly neglected girl that was forced to suffer alone in a backyard full of dirt is now a healthy, happy, beautiful Boxer girl that holds her head up high. She has healed remarkably well from the surgery to spay her and correct her vaginal hyperplasia and has no further complications from that condition. As well, she is completely healed from the surgery to remove the cancerous tumor from her leg. She has gained some much needed weight and her coat is filling in beautifully now that she’s receiving thyroid medication. And perhaps her most remarkable improvement is that the cancerous tumor that once protruded from her nose is barely even noticeable now that she is receiving a cocktail of cancer medications.

In addition to finally being healthy, Liberty is happy! Along with the drastic improvement in her health, Liberty’s spirits have taken a complete turn for the better. Now that she is no longer in discomfort and knows the security of a warm, loving home, she has rediscovered her puppyhood and loves to play! Her favorite toy is her basketball which she can be found chasing throughout the house or carrying with her on her walks. She is so attached to this particular toy that she brings it along on all of her outings, even to the vet’s office where she thankfully greets all of the staff who have helped her on her journey. And last but certainly not least, Liberty and her foster mom have a bond that every neglected animal deserves to experience. We are so very thankful that Liberty has been able to know this kind of love and security during her remission.

On behalf of Liberty, Take Me Home sends a heartfelt thank you for your continued support. Liberty is a living, breathing example of the difference that you have made in the lives of neglected animals. Your generosity made the difference between life and death; between health and suffering; between happiness and brokenness. We do not know what the future will hold for Liberty but we do know that we will continue to fight for her with all that modern medicine can provide and a lot of pampering along the way. Her cancer medications are very costly so we thank you for your continued belief and support in setting Liberty free of her cancer. It is because of your compassion that Liberty is at last, a healthy, happy girl!
